[Feb 21, 2026 10-noon] Taste Wuyi: Rock Oolong Tea Sampling Workshop

$40.00

Step into the misty cliffs of China’s legendary Wuyi Mountain National Park. Taste Wuyi is a 2-hour guided tea tasting that explores the depth, minerality, and history of Wuyi rock oolong (yancha), one of the world’s most celebrated tea styles.

Together, we’ll sample five distinct rock oolong teas, each selected to highlight differences in cultivar, micro-region, and production technique. As we taste, we’ll unpack what gives yancha its signature “rock rhyme” (岩韵): the region’s mineral-rich soils, dramatic terrain, and centuries-old production practices.

You’ll learn:

  • How Wuyi’s unique soil and cliffside gardens shape flavor

  • Why charcoal roasting remains the hallmark of traditional rock tea production

  • How craftsmanship, roasting skill, and terroir interact in the cup

  • The people, culture, and history that make Wuyi tea so extraordinary

This workshop is designed for both curious beginners and seasoned tea drinkers—no prior experience required, just a love for tasting and discovery.
