Farmer's Note
Though generations of my family were deeply rooted in traditions and customs of the tea industry, for the 50 years I have been with tea, I have always been seeking more creative ways to grow and present tea. We insist on no chemical fertilizer or pesticides usage. Rather, we use sheep manure to nourish the soil, and weeding is done by hand. Together with Mr. Hong, we have created this unique Colorful Peony by introducing Yao Qing (shaking technique) from wulong processing to bring forward the robust fragrance. This technique also changes the tea leaves to have varying shades of red and green, hence the name “colorful”. This Colorful Peony was created in 2018, and we found time has given it more depth and warmth. We are proud to be sharing this aged Colorful Peony tea with you.
